Setting Up An SSH Tunnel to BlackNet

Advanced Users: If you know what you're doing, all you need to know is that you want to setup an SSH tunnel from localhost:3128 (or any other port you prefer) on your localmachine to proxy.BlackNet.biz:3128 and then set your local web browser proxy settings to localhost:3128 (or whatever port you used locally)

The username for the ssh session is "proxy" and the current password for it is available on the Support page when you are logged in.

All the "proxy" account does is let you build the tunnel, you will still need to log in with your BlackNet account info once that tunnel is created.

Beginner Users (W98, WinXP, etc):

1. Download an ssh client from ssh.com or Putty
2. Open the SSh Secure Shell Client
3. Click on the Edit pull down menu
4. Select Settings...
5. Expand the Profile Settings box (on left hand side)
6. Click on Connection
   • In the Host name field enter: proxy.blacknet.biz
   • In the User name field enter: proxy
   • In the Port Number field enter: 22
7. Click on Tunelling (under the Connection sub-group)
8. Click on the Outgoing tab
   • In the Display Name: field enter: BlackNet
   • In the Type: field select: TCP
   • In the Listen Port: field enter: 3128
   • Check the Allow Local Connections Only checkbox
   • In the Destination Host: field enter: proxy.blacknet.biz
   • in the Port: field enter 3128 (Alternate ports available: 15128, 24001
     for Java Applet blocking ports use 3129, 15129, 24002)
9. Follow the instructions in the Configuring your web browser to use BlackNet anonymous proxies section EXCEPT enter localhost wherever it tells your to enter proxy.blacket.biz
10. You can now launch the SSh Secure Shell Client and click on the Profiles folder tab under the top menus
11. Blacknet should be one of the listed profiles. Select it.
12. A popup dialog box will say "Enter Password"
13. Enter the current SSH Tunnel Password which is listed at the top of the Support Section once you are logged in
14. Your tunnel connection will begin, you will see another Login: prompt.
15. Enter your BlackNet Username
16. You will then be prompted for a Password
17. Enter your BlackNet Password
18. You will see OK Tunnel Initiated..
